From a First Job in Concrete to a Family Business
When Manuel Patlax first moved to South Carolina nearly two decades ago, he took a job working concrete for another contractor. What started as just a way to earn a living quickly became something he loved. There's something deeply satisfying, he found, about pouring a slab and watching it finish smooth — about turning raw material into something that will last for decades, used every single day by the family that owns it.
After years of learning the trade and mastering every detail, Manuel knew it was time to do things his own way. He wanted to set the standard — for quality, for craftsmanship, and for how customers should be treated. That's how JUST Concrete was born.
Today, JUST Concrete is a family business proudly serving the Midlands. Manuel has called this community home for nearly 20 years, and his work can be found in driveways, patios, and walkways all across Columbia, Lexington, Irmo, Chapin, and beyond.
